We won’t focus on Super Falcons — Bayana Bayana coach Desiree Ellis

Banyana Banyana head coach, Desiree Ellis admits the Super Falcons are the team to beat at the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, but she won’t focus on them alone.

The Bayana Bayana who are seeking to win their first African title will kick off their campaign with a mouthwatering clash against the Falcons of Nigeria.

After the Falcons clash, they’ll face Botswana and Burundi in another Group C game.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, Ellis said Nigeria remains the favorite, but they’ll focus on every team participating in the tournament.

“Nigeria is a great side, but we can’t underestimate anyone. They are there because they deserve to be there and we saw Burundi beating Tanzania and Botswana coming through,” Ellis told Times Live.

“You have Senegal beating Mali, who were semifinalists in 2018, and Tunisia knocking out two-time champions Equatorial Guinea. Women’s football on the continent is on the rise.

“We have to make sure we move in that direction so we don’t get left behind.”She concluded.
