Real Madrid confirm Rudiger signing on four-year deal

 


Real Madrid have confirmed the long-awaited signing of Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger on a four-year deal.

The 29-year-old will move to the Bernabeu on a free transfer after he turned down the Blues' attempts to renew his contract.

Chelsea will have to pay a premium price to land Milan Skriniar this summer after Paris Saint-Germain saw their £42.3m bid for the defender rebuffed by Inter Milan (Sunday Express, June 12).

Gabriel Slonina - Chelsea are set to rival Real Madrid in the battle to sign highly-rated Chicago Fire goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina, an 18-year-old who could cost in the region of £8m (The Guardian, June 13).

Romelu Lukaku - New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly's relationship with Roc Nation, who look after Romelu Lukaku's commercial interests, could play a huge role in any potential move back to Inter Milan this summer (Daily Telegraph, June 11). Ousmane Dembele - Chelsea have been given a transfer boost after Barcelona confirmed Ousmane Dembele has not signed a new contract offer (The Sun on Sunday, June 12). Chelsea are reported to have taken the lead in the race to sign impending free agent Dembele from Barcelona and he could even become the first signing of the Todd Boehly era at Stamford Bridge (The Sun on Sunday, June 5).

Josko Gvardiol - RB Leipzig are battling to retain Gvardiol amid mounting interest from England, led by Chelsea and Tottenham (Daily Mail, June 3); Chelsea have drawn up an eight-man list of defenders, including Sevilla's Jules Kounde and Leipzig's Gvardiol, in a bid to move as quickly as possible to solve the club's centre-back crisis once the Todd Boehly-led takeover goes through (Daily Telegraph, May 25).

Marc Cucurella - Chelsea must pay at least £45m to win the race for Brighton defender Cucurella and will have to see off competition from Manchester City and Tottenham to land the Spanish left-back (The Sun, May 27).

Richarlison - Richarlison has told Everton he wants to leave the club this summer and move in a £65m transfer to either Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid (The Sun, June 9); Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are interested in Everton forward Richarlison, who has admitted he is considering his future on Merseyside (Daily Mail, May 31).

Jules Kounde - Sevilla general manager Jose Maria Cruz de Andres has admitted Jules Kounde wants to leave the club this summer and name-dropped Chelsea as one of his possible destinations along with Bayern Munich and Barcelona (Daily Mirror, June 11). The Sevilla defender is stepping up his efforts to become part of Todd Boehly's revolution at Chelsea and will be ready to step straight into a new-look defence under Thomas Tuchel (The Sun, May 26); Plans are in place to make Sevilla defender Kounde one of Chelsea's first signings once their takeover of the club is complete (Goal, May 19); Kounde was blocked from a move to Chelsea last summer but he remains their top defensive target ahead of a summer of change in London (Daily Mail, May 20).

Alessio Romagnoli - Chelsea will also pursue a deal for AC Milan captain and Italy defender Romagnoli, who will become a free agent this summer (Mundo Deportivo, May 19).

Gleison Bremer - Leicester and Chelsea are fighting it out for £40m rated Torino centre-back Bremer (The Sun, May 8).

Sergino Dest - Chelsea are ready to renew their interest in Barcelona full-back Dest and could use the Catalan club's interest in Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta to get a deal over the line as they will need to make significant room for those players on their wage bill (Daily Mail, June 1).

Wesley Fofana - Leicester City are attempting to fend off interest from Manchester United and Chelsea in their centre-back Fofana (Daily Express, June 9).

Cesar Azpilicueta - The defender will hold talks with Chelsea next week over his future (The Sun, June 11).

Reece James - Manchester City and Real Madrid are on red alert with Chelsea yet to approach James over a new contract despite becoming a key member of their first-team squad (Daily Mail, June 10).
