Aston Villa are reportedly closing in on a cut-price deal for Philippe Coutinho.

Since arriving on loan from Barcelona, the 29-year-old has scored four and provided three assists - as well as individual moments of brilliance - across 15 games. Villa boss Steven Gerrard has been adamant in his desire to bring Coutinho to Villa Park on a permanent basis.

The latest reports from across Europe have suggested that Coutinho has “fully agreed” personal terms ahead of a prospective move. However, it is further claimed that Villa will pay almost half of the initial £33m fee mooted in January, with the move believed to be priced in the region of £17m.
